Joanne “Jo” Legrasse is researching monsters for a book, so her old professor gives her a pretty gnarly book about some far out monsters and then he warns her not to read the chants out loud. So, she packs up the book and takes it to the beach for a day of sun and idiocy.
You know where this is headed, right? Because nothing bad ever happened from reading from a book. Hello? The Mummy ring any bells? Anyway, the first stupid thing this woman does is take a shower before heading to the beach. Because heaven knows she’s not going to get covered in sand and salt water or anything. This scene is solely shoehorned in so she can get some masturbation in while thinking of monsters doing nasty things to her book character and she won’t be able to do that while surrounded by beach peeps. Then when she finds a spot on the sand to cop a squat I guess she’s still so addled from her solitary pleasure session that she decides to do what her professor begged her not to do…read from the book. She needs to give up her college diploma right now because moron. What happens after this is monster porn all the way baby. The ending is dumb though. First person is not my favorite, but it’s not horribly written. If you pick this up, I recommend ignoring the moronic actions and go straight to the monster porn because damn.
