This anthology has 15 short stories pertaining to motherhood and/or family. I would mark them as fiction or contemporary. There are some great illustrations in this, too. I have to admit, I think the illustrations are my favorite part.

Some Other Summer by Harriet Shaw ~ Young love and war.

Backfire by Sally Cade ~ Oops. That ended up with a much different result than intended.

Bear with me by Felicity Wilson ~ Wow. That’s actually depressing.

Midnight in Bombay by Sarah Nock ~ Um, okaaaaay.

The Creditor by Jon Ashbrook ~ Hmmm, something is fishy here.

Sa Bhaile by Laura Tilton ~ Well, better to know than be left wondering. But the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Bandaranadah by Sarah Nock ~ My least favorite because I didn’t understand the point of it.

The Old Carpet by Miriam Moss ~ I know people who would do this.

A Matter of Maternity by Sally Cade ~ You can’t pick your family, but this is too much.

The Train by Sally Cade ~ Meh

Seasonal Greetings by Jon Ashbrook ~ Leopards and all that…

Excess of Loss by Neil A.T. Davidson ~ The world of stockbrokers.

Heavenly Pursuits by Harriet Shaw ~ Oooh...a paranormal one. Nice!

Easter Eggs and Redemption by Susan Aykin ~ How do you get over betrayal and hurt?

When the Dead Awaken by Sarah Nock ~ I don’t get this.
